What size mahjong mat do I need for a card table?
Our mats are 33" × 33", which fits most standard card tables. It’s a full-size American mahjong mat, so you’re not squeezing a game onto a small cloth.
Is there room for four racks on a Hutch & Nook mat?
Yes. Each mat has room for all four players’ racks and pushers, with space in the middle to wash the tiles and build your walls.
What are Hutch & Nook mahjong mats made of?
The top is a smooth, silk-like surface that lets tiles glide. The back is cushioned, non-slip neoprene that grips the table, so the mat stays put during play.
How thick is a Hutch & Nook mahjong mat?
About 2-3 mm. That’s thick enough to cushion the tiles, and thin enough to roll up neatly for storage.
Can I use a mahjong mat for dominoes, Mexican Train, bridge, or Bunco?
Absolutely. It’s a lovely table cover for dominoes, Mexican Train, bridge, Bunco, and card games like poker, too.

Using & caring for your mat
How do I clean a mahjong mat?
Wipe it with warm water and a towel. For a stain, a little foaming dish spray usually lifts it right out.
How should I store my mahjong mat between games?
Roll it up and keep it in the box it came in. The box doubles as its home between game nights.
Can I fold my mahjong mat?
We recommend rolling it instead. Folding can leave creases, and rolling keeps it smooth and ready for your next game.
Will my mahjong mat arrive creased?
Not at all. Every mat ships rolled in its own Hutch & Nook box, so it arrives crease-free and ready to play.
Does a mahjong mat make the game quieter?
Yes. The cushioned neoprene softens the clack of every discard, so your game is easier on the ears (and on the neighbors).
Orders & shipping
How long does it take to get my mahjong mat?
We pack every order ourselves and ship within 1-3 business days of receiving an order. You’ll get a tracking email as soon as it’s on its way, and most US orders arrive within a week depending on the shipping option chosen.
How much is shipping?
Shipping rates vary by carrier (UPS, FedEx, or USPS). It is typically based on your location and the shipping option you choose. You’ll always see the exact cost at checkout before you pay.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Along with the United States, we ship to 27 countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. You’ll see the shipping options and cost for your country at checkout, and any duties, taxes, or customs fees charged by your country are the buyer’s responsibility.
What if my order arrives damaged or gets lost?
We’ll make it right. Email us at info@hutchandnook.com within 14 days of delivery with a photo and description of the issue. We will review each instance individually and will work to correct the issue (send a new mat or refund).
Returns & exchanges
What is Hutch & Nook’s return policy?
You can return unused items within 14 days of delivery. Mats should be rolled back into their original box. Email us at info@hutchandnook.com to start a return.
Can I exchange my mat for a different design?
Yes! You can exchange an unused mat within 14 days of delivery. Just tell us which design you’d like when you email to start your return. If prices differ, we’ll refund or charge the difference. You will have to pay shipping costs to exchange a mat.
How long does a refund take?
Once your return arrives and we’ve checked it over, we’ll issue your refund to your original payment method within 10 business days. Your bank may take a few more days to post it.
